Placements in the Northern West Bank

Many farmers in the Northern West Bank face difficulties obtaining permits to access their own land. Those who do obtain permits often face difficulties crossing checkpoints to access land which has been divided by the Israeli Separation Barrier. Palestinians living here also face Israeli military incursions, arrest raids and increasing levels of settler violence and harassment. EAs monitor human rights abuses and provide protective presence for farmers as they access their livelihood.

Some Palestinians living in the Northern West Bank are also caught in the ‘seam zone’, the land between the internationally accepted ‘Green Line’ (the 1949 armistice line) and the Israeli Separation Barrier which illegally cuts deep into Palestinian land. EAs work alongside a number of Israeli and Palestinian peace groups to monitor and report on the difficulties facing those living between the two, as well as all of the other issues in this region.

EAs serving in the Northern West Bank cover the whole of the Nablus, Tulkarm and Qalqiliya Governorates.
